First, the rice extract contains compounds that gently slow down melanin (pigment) production, which helps fade the dark marks left behind after a breakout heals.

This serum provides mild exfoliation, so stacking it with strong acids (AHAs/BHAs), retinol, or physical scrubs in the same routine can over-exfoliate and irritate your skin.
If you use retinol or acids, it's best to alternate (e.g. this in the morning, retinol at night) rather than layer them together, and skip separate scrubs entirely.
